25th Anniversary

Transfer of the Company
to Christian Gast & Dieter GastAfter 25 years, Peter Gast handed over the company to his sons, Mr. Christian Gast and Dieter Gast, who took over the leadership and steered the company toward the future with fresh ideas. Shortly after, Peter Gast retired, marking the end of his active involvement in the business. In the following years, our network expanded significantly, becoming more known worldwide, further enhancing our global presence in the shipping industry.
25 Years of PGS
in the German Shipping IndustryAt the end of 1999, PGS celebrated its 25th anniversary in the German shipping industry, reflecting on a successful development and numerous significant projects.
First PGS Schiffahrtsregatta
in 1983Peter Gast initiated the first PGS Schiffahrtsregatta in 1983. What began as a one-time event quickly developed into a popular and longstanding tradition. Today, it is the largest private regatta in Germany and stands out as one of the top events in the shipping industry.
First SMM and Excursion
on the Elbe with Clients and Partners in 1982Peter Gast Shipping participated in its first SMM (Shipbuilding, Machinery & Marine Technology Trade Fair), one of the leading events in the maritime industry. To further strengthen relationships, the company also hosted its first excursion on the Elbe with clients and partners, setting the stage for many such gatherings in the future.
First Newbuilding Project
in ChinaA significant milestone was the first newbuild project in China, which marked the beginning of a long and successful collaboration with Asian shipyards.
Founding
of Peter Gast Shipping GmbHTwo years after founding GSH, Peter Gast established Peter Gast Shipping GmbH. The company specialized in the mediation of repair, newbuilding, sale and purchase, and salvage projects, quickly becoming a trusted partner in the shipping industry.
The PGS Schiffahrtsregatta
Once started as a small gathering of shipping enthusiasts, the PGS Shipping Regatta has grown into Germany’s largest private maritime regatta. It’s where business meets tradition, and industry leaders come together to sail, connect, and celebrate.
